By creating an account you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use AskMyHome.
The service:
AskMyHome lets you upload documents about your home and get AI‑assisted answers, timelines, and reminders. AI answers can be wrong — always verify anything important (dates, dollar amounts, safety instructions) against the original document.
Your account:
You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for anything that happens under your account. You must be at least 13 years old.
Subscriptions & billing:
- Plans are billed annually in advance through Stripe.
- Founder's Circle ($199/yr) locks that price for the life of your subscription. It ends when the first 250 spots are claimed.
- The AskMyHome Annual plan starts with a 7‑day free trial. You won't be charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel anytime before then to avoid billing.
- Add‑ons (extra homes $99/yr, vault unlocks $29/yr) are always prorated to your existing renewal date. You are charged only for the days remaining in your current year, then the full annual amount renews alongside your subscription so everything bills on a single date. Prorated amounts are non‑refundable, and add‑ons cancel when your subscription ends. A referral reward unlocks a vault free for 12 months from the day it is redeemed (extra rewards extend it by another year each); after that, keeping it is the normal $29/yr prorated to your renewal date. The one‑time review reward works the same way: one vault free for 12 months. Rewards never change your membership renewal date.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled before the renewal date. You can cancel any time from the billing portal.
Vaults:
The Emergency Vault is included with every plan. Nine optional vaults — Estate, Pet, Auto / Motorsports, Boat / Watersports, Home Office, Travel, Medical, Firearms, and Hobby & Gear — are $29/yr each and prorated as described above.
- Medical Vault. For your own personal health paperwork. AskMyHome is not a HIPAA covered entity or business associate, is not a health record system, and must never be used for clinical, insurance, or emergency medical decisions.
- Firearms Vault. For documentation only — receipts, permits, serial‑number records, and insurance riders. AskMyHome does not facilitate the sale, transfer, listing, or brokerage of firearms or ammunition and is not a legal or regulatory compliance tool. You are solely responsible for complying with applicable law.
- Estate Vault. Document storage only — not legal advice and not a substitute for an attorney‑prepared estate plan.
Your data: export and deletion:
You can export your documents and extracted data in a portable format from Settings at any time, and delete individual documents or your entire account whenever you choose — no request, approval, or fee required. Your content is encrypted in transit and at rest, scoped to your household by row‑level security, never sold, and never used to train third‑party AI foundation models. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
When you close your account, renewal billing stops immediately and your content, vaults, and rewards are held for 30 days, then permanently erased. Within those 30 days you can sign back in and restore everything, including your locked‑in rate. Closing an account does not pause or extend anything: plans are annual, so your renewal date and any reward expiration dates stay fixed, and time spent closed still counts toward the year you purchased. If your paid year ends while your account is closed, the annual renewal is due before access resumes, and no credit or refund is given for unused time. After the 30 days, your discounted or Founder's/partner rate and all earned rewards are void, and returning means signing up at the then‑current annual price and purchasing vaults again.
For your protection, generating an export requires you to re‑confirm your identity (your password, or confirmation of your account email if you sign in with Google), and exports include only homes you own or co‑own. Homes shared to you as an Editor or Viewer are never included. Export, account deletion, and billing controls are available only to account owners and co‑owners. Download links inside an export expire seven days after it is created.
Sharing access with other people:
You may invite other people to a home as a Co‑owner, Editor, or Viewer. Anyone you invite can view the documents and information in that home, and Co‑owners and Editors can also change or add to them. You are solely responsible for choosing who to invite, what they can access, and for removing access when it is no longer needed.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, AskMyHome is not responsible or liable for any loss, disclosure, misuse, alteration, or deletion of your information caused by a person you granted access to, including after your relationship with that person changes. Access you grant is deliberate, and actions taken by people you invited are treated as authorized by you until you remove their access.
Refunds:
Because every eligible plan starts with a free trial giving you a full opportunity to evaluate AskMyHome before you are charged, all subscription purchases are final and non‑refundableonce billing begins. You can cancel any time and keep access through the end of your paid period.
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to issue refunds in exceptional circumstances — for example duplicate charges, accidental double subscriptions, or a technical issue that prevented you from accessing the service. Email support@askmyhome.app and we will review it.
Acceptable use:
You may not:
- Upload content you don't have the right to store.
- Attempt to reverse‑engineer, scrape, or overload the service.
- Use AskMyHome to store regulated data (PHI, PCI) beyond the ordinary receipts and policies a homeowner keeps.
- Resell or expose the service to third parties without a written agreement.
Your content:
You keep ownership of everything you upload. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display it so we can provide the service to you and the people you share your home with.
Referrals & affiliates:
Customer referral rewards are non‑cash: each converted, paid signup earns one vault free for 12 months. Rewards stack with no cap and may be applied to the same vault to extend it year after year. Members who earned every vault through rewards keep earning vault-years — each one extends any vault they choose by another 12 months. Rewards are always vault years — we do not issue free months, discounts, or refunds on an annual payment already made, and your membership renewal date never moves. Affiliate partners earn $50 per annual sale via Rewardful under a separate agreement; a public referral link is not an affiliate contract.
Reviews:
We may offer a one‑time thank‑you to members who leave a review — your one vault free for 12 months, the same as a referral reward. The thank‑you is for leaving an honest review — it does not depend on the rating you give or on what you say, we never ask you to remove or change a review, and we do not filter, screen, or suppress reviews by rating. Reviews are written inside AskMyHome and are published on our site after a quick check for personal details or unlawful content; we may lightly edit your display name, location, or obvious typos, never the substance of what you said. One review per account. If you'd rather send feedback privately instead of posting, you can do that from your dashboard; private feedback does not earn a thank‑you. Where a platform or law requires it, please disclose that you received an incentive.
Disclaimers:
AskMyHome is provided "as is". We disclaim implied warranties to the maximum extent permitted by law. AskMyHome is a personal knowledge tool, not legal, financial, medical, or safety advice.
Liability:
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes:
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be emailed to the address on your account at least 14 days before they take effect.
